Pinched Nerve Treatment in Miami, Florida

Are You a Candidate For Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression?

A pinched nerve in your back can cause extreme pain that runs from your lower back and down the rear of one leg running from the backside down the rear of the thigh and even into the calf and foot.

Pain from a pinched nerve may begin suddenly or gradually. Typically, it is characterized by sharp, shooting pain that feels a lot like an electrical shock. Moving the leg, back or other part of the body affected by the pinch nerve will often increase this pain.

Pain from a pinched nerve may be dispersed uniformly along the leg, but there frequently are certain spots where the pain is more intense. This pain is often followed by numbness or a tingling sensation along the sciatic nerves, the longest nerve group in the body which runs from the lower back and down the rear of both legs.

Root causes of a Pinched Nerve

A pinched nerve may arise from a process which causes pressure or irritation of the nerve roots which make up the sciatic nerve. This pressure may be brought on by a variety of factors, including things like a ruptured intervertebral spinal disc, the narrowing of the bony spinal canal (called spinal stenosis), or, in rare cases, by an infection or tumor.

The sciatic nerve is the longest and biggest in the body, measuring three-quarters of an inch in diameter in adults. It starts in the sacral plexus, the system of nerves situated in the lower back (lumbosacral spine).

The sciatic nerve and its sections are what allow movement and feeling, or motor and sensory functions. in the thigh, knee, calf, ankle, foot and toes.

If your sciatic nerve is pressed, or “pinched”, it can cause pain along these paths. This is the reason pinched nerve pain can radiate or spread to other parts of your body.

Pinched nerve pain may be caused by a bulging or herniated disc, degenerative disk disease, piriformis syndrome, pregnancy, spinal stenosis, a spinal tumor or spinal infection, or by damage.

All of these ailments can apply pressure to the sciatic nerve or other associated nerve roots located in your lower back. It is this compression, or pinching, that triggers your pain and other signs and symptoms.

I love their clinic. Dr Moyal and his assistant are very professional. Dr Moyal is informative and knowledgeable. He... helped me feel at ease. I’m suffering from numbness and tingling sensations on my upper and lower extremities for the last 2 weeks. It keeps me highly anxious and awake at night, wondering what’s going on w my body. I’m also set to see a neurologist in 2 weeks. However, my visit with Dr. Moyal gave me re-assurance that one reason for my numbness is the compression on my cervical area. Can’t wait to be back on my next session and will be telling about this to my co-nurses who suffer from stress and back issues as well. read more

It was my 1st appointment and Dr. Moyal was very thorough and nice. I also brought my mother for an appointment. She... was barely walking with huge pain in her back and leg. He explained everything with patience and provided a good diagnosis with a plan for treatment. Andrea, his assistant, is super nice as well. My mom left walking with almost no pain and very happy. We had a great experience and will certainly come back. Strongly recommend.read more
