Sciatica Treatment in Miami and Coral Gables, Florida

Are You a Candidate For Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression?

Sciatica is a pain that runs from the lower back down the leg, often into the foot and toes. It is brought on by an inflammation of the sciatic nerve brought about by a compression.

Some people suffering from sciatica may experience a burning, tickling or prickly sensation, typically on one side of the body. The type and amount of pain a person experiences depends upon the site of the nerve compression.

In certain instances the pain may be very minor, while in others it might be severe and incapacitating. Although most individuals will recover from an episode of sciatica within a few weeks, the pain can sometime worsen in time or persist for much longer. It all depends on the underlying cause.

Sciatica and Nerve Destruction

Although it is rare, in some instances sciatica can lead to permanent nerve damage. But the irritation of the nerve that triggers the sciatica pain generally is reversible.

Symptoms of a more critical medical complication include bladder or bowl incontinence, growing weakness, or the loss of sensation in the leg.

Specifically Where the Sciatic Nerve is Located

Sciatic nerves are the longest in the body. They reach out from the lower back completely down to the toes of the feet.

Sciatic nerves exit the spine between two vertebrae in the lower back and travel behind the hip joint down the buttocks and along the back of each leg into the feet.

Sciatica is brought on by the irritation of one or both of these nerves. Usually, a herniated disk applies pressure on the sciatic nerve root.

Often, people experiencing sciatica have leg pain, which makes them incorrectly think that the sciatica is caused by some sort of problem within the leg.

Other root causes of sciatica can include spinal tumors, spondylolisthesis, trauma, spinal stenosis, or injury.

Anyone Can Easily Have Sciatica

Many people think that sciatica is something that merely effects people who have an inactive lifestyle. And while it’s right that sedentary people are more susceptible for sciatica, it in fact can affect active people also, particularly if they participate in activities that involve twisting the back or carrying heavy weights frequently.

For the most part, sciatica will resolve itself within a few weeks. Therapy options include exercise, physical therapy. For some patients, however, the pain can last much longer, so individualized treatment plans are advised.

Sciatica Therapy Options

Another more natural and less invasive sciatica treatment option is , non-surgical spinal decompression therapy. By gradually decompressing the involved spinal disks pressure on the sciatic nerve can be eased and the pain from sciatica can disappear.

Thank you so much, Dr. Moyal for giving me hope and doing what you do best. definitely #1 in Decompression!Updated Review (1 Year, 9 Months Later): It’s now been about 1 year and 9 months, and I still can’t thank Dr. Moyal enough. Every time I receive a piece of advice or an adjustment from his God-sent healing hands, I feel truly grateful. Giving him—and myself—a chance was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The improvement in my day-to-day life has been incredible. He’s played a huge part in helping me manage my pain and keep moving. I’ve been able to fully return to the gym five days a week, stick to all my training, and I haven’t felt this strong in a very long time. I will forever be grateful for the gift of movement.

My first time at the Coral Way Disc Center; went in because of a herniated disc (back pain). The Doctor was very good and informative, He read the MRI and advised me as to which way to proceed. He indicated that my herniated disc was caused by (40 years of Golf) plus weight lifting. He says that treatment can help my back pain significantly! I plan to start treatment in the next couple of weeks. Thank. Lou

Pain free in very little time and most important free of surgery which was my biggest fear! I highly recommend this spot !!! 6 stars if they had the option!!!

my wife has been a member of the coral way disc center for several months... she is very happy with the care she receive at the disc center. having been a massage therapist for 40 years i have been reluctant to sign up for a membership or have others work on me. i like to float around, allergic to schedules. well i have been in pain for awhile, so today was the day i joined my wife there to let the doc work on me. no need to make it too long but, i felt immediate relief so i did get a membership. love the people there, everyone is laidback and friendly, so... jean
